Review of The Shawshank Redemption (1994) by Superbat — 28 Apr 2021
The Shawshank Redemption is one of the few films that deserves to be recognized as a masterpiece. It's much more than your average prison film. At the center of this movie is a compelling narrative which focuses on themes of faith, friendship, determination and perseverance.
The performances are stellar, particularly from Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Freeman's iconic narration elevates this movie into what it is. Shawshank is a stellar film with outstanding performances, a compelling storyline and no glaring weaknesses.
