Review of The Shop Around the Corner (1940) by Paul D — 21 Jan 2007
I know that I have been extremely generous with the five star ratings for alot of my films, however by no means does that degrade this film. If it was out of 100 it would still get full marks. One of my favourate films, in my eyes it most likely equals if not surpasses "It's a Wonderful Life".
All set within one shop where a love story blossoms, a wonderfully sweet film. If you liked the remake "You've Got Mail" be prepared for something mile better in this.
