It didn't surprise me to learn the script for this movie was adapted from a play; it really is more suited for the stage. On film, it is dull and confining, despite having a concept rich in dramatic ironyy that would be used in future romantic comedies.

On the plus side, James Stewart is charming as always, and never fails to elicit our sympathy.
