Review of The Singularity Is Near (2010) by Adrian T — 15 Aug 2012
"The Singularity Is Near" is cheesy at times. Ok, more accurately, there are times when it's NOT cheesy. But if you view the "Ramona" segments as slightly-illustrative levity (think of them as the one-panel comics between chapters in "For Dummies" books), the remainder of the film is an excellent primer on the Singularity concept.
If you don't know what the Singularity is, or you think it's something to be prevented, you need to watch this film. More importantly, whether you've heard of the Singularity or not, this film will illustrate solutions to world issues you may not have considered.
