Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Carlos I — 22 Nov 2011
This movie does not deserve the absurdly low "Top Critics" rating on this website. "The Sound of Music" is a film that is beautiful not just in plot and music, but in the realness of it's characters.
Based on real-life events, "The Sound of Music" is a melodious flight turned dark by the gradual rise of the Nazis in pre-World War II. With the always wonderful Julie Andrews taking the lead as Maria, this film is one that touches the soul and brings forth the real essence of filmmaking; the power to make the audience care.
