Review of The Sword of Doom (1966) by Frank T — 09 Apr 2010
This movie is really awesome, but it is also really confusing. The main problem is that the movie is an adaptation of 1/3 of a Japanese novel so the ending makes no sense. As many people pointed out, there is a duel that never took place in this film.
However, if you like it enough to watch it a couple of times I think the movie will draw you in. (Also after a couple of times you will not be bothered so much by the pieces of plot that go nowhere..).
Oh, and if you like Nakadai Tatsuya in this film, then watch "Ran", he also plays someone who is haunted by his past (in this case, King Lear)....
