Forget the remake and see Carpenter version instead. This is simply one of the greatest horror movies ever made from a time when they actually made an honest attempt at scaring people and succeeded no less.
Disturbing with more than a few memorable scenes and a plot that keeps you guessing. Good luck sleeping well after this one. Lovecraftian science fiction horror at its best.
