Review of The Third Man (1949) by Ninon M — 12 Feb 2018
'The Third Man' gives you pretty much everything that you can ask a movie to give -and more. Its cinematography beautifully catches the dusked, post-war Vienna and its magnificent dialogues, haunting characters and.
Performances altogether make it a throrough cinematic experience. Reed's rare gem may be the definite motion picture, and it's content being is as entertaining as Martin's novels (Joseph Cotten) and as diabolically intelligent as Lime's (Orson Welles) words actions. It's a marvelous, precious success whose mysteries (some unresolved) and great score still linger in our heads and ears, and whose each photography, whose each idea is valuable. A cinematic miracle.
