Review of The Usual Suspects (1995) by Dawdlingpoet — 23 Nov 2021
This is a sometimes gripping, mysterious watch with a great cast. The plot develops reasonably slowly but it features some good action scenes and kept me guessing. I liked Pete Postlethwaite's asian accent (he plays a character called Kobayashi). It has a bit of a film noir feel to it, in that its gritty, urban and a little bit spooky, with some mildly unsettling music played subtly in the background to remind the viewer that anything could happen at a seconds notice.
It is dark and bizarre but its definitely a good watch and the pace hots up towards the end. This is a film I'd recommend.
