Review of The War Room (1993) by Kenneth H — 17 Oct 2011
The War Room was good in that it took us behind-the-scenes into the 1992 Bill Clinton presidential campaign, but it did so in a very disorganized fashion. Most of the movie is raw footage of James Carville yakking away unceasingly, without really any organization (other than the footage being arranged chronologically), narration, commentary or annotation. Much of what we see is either quite dry or a bunch of people talking over each other unintelligibly (to make things worse, the DVD I watched lacked subtitles). Also, the movie seemed to mostly gloss over the primary elections, other than New Hampshire's.
All in all, it provides a lot of raw, fly-on-the-wall footage but it's not a particularly good or interesting documentary.
