Review of The Warriors (1979) by Brett L — 09 Oct 2018
Not all movies are supposed to rival Citizen Kane, this low budget late 70's action film with an inexperienced cast is a triumph and remains a cult classic even today. Over the top gangs, over the top villains and some of the worst dialogue you will come across has meshed into one of the greatest so bad its great movies you could ever watch.
Its stylish, choking and intimidating despite all of its flaws. James Remar as Ajax is a delight, Deborah van Valkenburgh as the tough chick from the down the way steals scene after scene and David Patrick Kelly as Luther is one of the most energetic psychopaths to grace the screen. Sit back, don't take it too seriously and enjoy it for what it is.
