The Week Of makes the viewer feel like they're standing on set with the actors as they realize they don't want to be there. The acting barely lifted itself out of its community improv troupe roots. Each situation that was intended for comedy, felt simultaneously intentional and thoughtless, as if they committed to all of the wrong ideas.
