Review of The Woman in the Window (1944) by J J — 26 May 2011
Highly thrilling noir directed by Fritz Lang although as someone else put it on IMDB, it felt like he left the movie with ten minutes to go and let Frank Capra take over for the ending. That's the only way I can describe that ending without spoiling it, nevertheless it was a surprise departure from your usual noir and looking back, it does kind of fit in with the rest of the movie.
Great performances from Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennet and Dan Durea. All three went on to give even better performances in Fritz Lang's next offering, Scarlett Street, a superior companion piece to TWITW.
