In an ideal world this would have been recognized for what it is: this generation's The Godfather, and the cool, ballsy thing is that Gray openly invites comparison with his obvious debt to the crime films of that era.
hell, it's actually better than The Godfather. Ranks almost equally with Two Lovers.
