Review of Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) by Lumdog — 21 Jul 2022

Tonally it's a mess. It leans too heavy into slapstick comedy and it feels like a parody. I respect Taika Waititi very much, I think he's a fantastic filmmaker but he needs to be reigned in, otherwise this is what you get.

...a movie written for 5 year olds. Every dramatic and tense moment is undercut with a joke, the main character is a blubbering idiot, and characters frankly are just plan annoying. There are little nuggets of gold here and there but it's just surrounded by s**t.
