Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by Chris V — 26 Feb 2018
Crazy and over the top - an enjoyable Thor romp. It was maybe a little TOO goofball for me, but I do enjoy how Marvel uses humor to lighten their movies (otherwise you end up with a Superman movie - and not the good C Reeves kind). I suspect the director had a bunch to do with that - I have only seen one other movie he did - What We Do in the Shadows - and I can see the influence.
I liked Thor's look a bit better than - it was either Thor 1 or 2 - where it looked like he got shot in the face with shotgun full of foundation. I also feel a bit sorry for the poor guy.
*** spoiler alert ****.
He loses his hammer, his planet (or whatever Asgard is - that isn't quite spelled out) and I can't help but feel that maybe Odin isn't the world's BEST father ever.
