Review of Ticket to Paradise (2022) by Mindurbidniss — 24 Nov 2022
Leave it to the legends to revive the genre of rom-com. Clooney and Roberts bring a reminder of what films used to be, an escape and a way to tell relatable stories you can feel. Not sure why this film has such low review scores.
It tells a story of relatable characters, with palpable chemistry. It also manages to subvert many film cliches and tug at your heartstrings with scenes and situations that veer more into the category of drama.
The Clooney and Robert's characters are also written in a way that makes them human. Flaws and all, we get to see how they ended up the way they are and root for them to find their way back. My only gripe with this film is the character of the daughter and the actress portraying her.
It almost felt like two different films whenever she was in screen. She just didn't stand out whatsoever, then again she had big shoes to fill. That being said Ticket to Paradise is highly recommended.
In a world full of remakes and Disney flicks, it tells a heartwarming and hilarious story.
