Review of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012) by Tyler R — 28 Apr 2013
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have reached cult status with their brilliant television show. Therefore, I had to see their feature film the first chance I got. Unfortunately, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is dull, boring, and worst of all, not funny.
The film follows Tim and Eric as Hollywood film makers who blow one billion dollars making a terrible movie and buy a mall in the hopes of making the money back. First of all, the acting is okay to bad.
Tim and Eric do okay in parts, but they definitely don't have what it takes for a full length film. The supporting actors do pretty swell, but their jokes are weak and barely hit with anything more than a thud.
The writing is....Tim and Eric writing. It's random and off the wall, but once again, it all gets stretched thin during the 90 minute runtime. As a film, it's rough to sit through and painful to see Tim and Eric struggle with a concept that should've been a skit.
I wanted so much more from this film, but I should've known thaylt their humor wouldn't make it to 90 minutes.
