Review of Timecode (2000) by Richard D — 31 Mar 2014
A 'unique' approach to film making, Timecode has 4 screens going on constantly for its entire length. Its unique for technical reasons but the story is forgettable. Bad acting, bad dialogue, bad lighting, and some of the most hilarious earthquake scenes you will ever see. Its only claim to fame is that it inspired the cinematography for the first couple seasons of 24. Basically imagine Cloverfield, but with four cameras all done in 1 take. Neat at first, but becomes super annoying.
Often times will be stuff happening in one screen but absolutely nothing in the others. And so characters will do random things to burn time.
It was a neat experiment but not one worth repeating.
