Review of Top Five (2014) by Michael H — 24 Dec 2014
A very different movie and different type of love story. An urban and hip tale with real pathos and easily relatable characters. This film is certainly quite riske and sexually explicit, but even these scenes are less than simply gratuitous and generally succeed at moving the story along with laugh out loud humor and purpose. An eye opening and wonderful performance by Chris Rock and the supporting cast.
The ending is fresh and effective... Were Woody Allen a black man and in his prime today, he may have come up with this modern, inner-city romantic comedy. I consider that a compliment to both Allen and Rock.
