Review of Top Gun: Maverick (2022) by Therandomcat — 27 May 2022

I am a huge fan of the original, which hit theaters when I was 8. This sequel was everything I could have hoped for - and then some. Not only was reverence and homage paid to the story of the original movie, but the sequel also had its own unique narrative and deeper themes than just the cinematic spectacle of the aerial action.

I had tears in so many moments while my heart was going at Mach speeds and pulling massive Gs. The work in the planes was also real and that meant a lot. See it on as big a screen as you can.
