Sometimes it just feels like I watched an entirely different movie than everyone else. The characters were paper thin, the dialogue was barebones, and the film was obsessed with callbacks to the original.
I couldn't take the plot seriously, the mission they're training for is psychotically suicidal, and I couldn't even enjoy the aerial sequences since they ignored the laws of physics and just followed Anime-logic.
I dunno, I must've just seen a different movie than everyone else.
