Review of Touching the Void (2003) by Masorad ( — 15 Nov 2008
There might be something to be said for a couple of guys dousing themselves with petrol, lighting themselves afire and living to tell the tale. A tale of survival, to be sure, full of reflection, flaming wisdom and hubris for the rest of us to reflect upon.
"Touching The Void" presents similar thrill-seekers, venturing into lifeless climes, beating their own stacked odds, confirming their masculinity, being British throughout. Great looking film, but then so are the locales.
Kudos to Joe for discounting his Catholicism in his most trying of times.
