Transformers has jaw- dropping action, brilliant effects, and you wouldn't want to miss a minute of it. The energy never lets up, and two committed, unfussy leading actors are an improvement over other summer flicks. Big, loud and full of testosterone-fueled car fantasies, Michael Bay's actioner hits a new peak for CGI work, showcasing spectacular chases and animated transformation sequences seamlessly blended into live-action surroundings. Bay, at heart, isn't a fantasist; he's a literal-minded maestro of demolition. But then, that serves Transformers well during its climax, a spectacular clash of the heavy metal titans, and a primal reminder of why boys love their toys. Transformers is a wet dream for fanboys, with vehicles that whiz and whir into alien robots, spectacular sci-fi stunt chases, glistening military hardware, overheated computer software and brainy, hot girls who love Popular Mechanics. For a Michael Bay action film, Transformers was surprisingly entertaining and not as heavy handed. For sci-fi excitement and escapist, fast-paced action, you can't beat this. It's spectacularly loud, fun-filled and wicked cool.

VERDICT: "Instant Classic" - [Positively Acclaimed Reaction] Usually I give this rating to a movie that I believe is absolutely outstanding and has little to no flaws in it. Audiences, who haven't seen this film, must see it right now! (Films that are rated 4.5 or 5 stars).
