Review of Trash (2014) by Andrew S — 22 Aug 2016
The critics are too hard on this one. Sure the chances of finding a wallet and it leading to exposing political corruption on a massive scale is not realistic and sure the filmmakers purposefully used charismatic kids as an angle, but who cares? The storyline gives way to a thrilling and entertaining picture that opens yours eyes to the favelas in Brazil and the kids are a perfect vehicle for providing a sense of hope and faith in humanity.
Not all movies need to come across realistic and believable to be good and make us feel good. That's the magic of movies.
