Review of Trash (2014) by James D — 02 Feb 2015
Trash is an interesting feature that is often very heavy on themes of corruption, police brutality and the struggles of the under-class; but it is also a classic tale of friendship, hope and doing the right thing.
That is pretty much the key here and it is the film's three young stars that really sell this thoroughly entertaining film from Brazil. If you're expecting the film to be truly insightful about the problems of corruption in Brazil.
.. well, the film might not entirely hit the mark. But as a slightly escapist action/adventure that uses these themes as a backdrop, this should prove to be a surprise hit.
