Turning Red is not believable and I don’t mean the girl turning into a giant metaphor for her vagina when she gets sexually aroused. But it’s her mum that isn’t believable. No mum would go out of her way to completely humiliate and socially destroy her daughter the way she does.
The reason the girl turns into a giant red panda is because her mother is suppressing her daughter’s sexual desires for teenage boys. Is this movie for adults? Does Disney have the viewpoint I need to know how to educate my kids on the topic of puberty and how not to parent my child? I turned it off after about fifteen minutes because Turning Red is stupid.
Totally unrealistic . At no point is this mother and her actions believable. She’s so far from reality I can’t empathise with her at all. I’m out. I lasted about fifteen minutes in so I don’t know how more tragic it becomes.
