Review of Unbreakable (2000) by Jacob B — 05 Jan 2019
Unpopular opinion incoming! Get your pitchforks ready! In my opinion, this movie is better than The Sixth Sense. Largely owing to the fact that the movie's twist ending hasn't become as widely known as that of M.
Night Shyamalan's previous movie. The performances are great, the deconstruction of superhero tropes is quite good and the camerawork is done pretty well in order to frame the movie like a comic book.
We never do get any big-time action sequences despite being a superhero movie which I think would've been a big mistake. Unbreakable was truly ahead of its time.
