Review of Unbroken (2014) by Matt C — 15 Jan 2018
Woeful first effort from Jolie as Director where she just borrows from other much better films hook line and sinker and tries vainly to stitch them all together. The whole Olympic runner side story is basically irrelevant to the film and the character development here is literally non-existent.
Does not bode well for a future directing career. At well over two hours, it massively outstays it's welcome as well. I haven't read the book but I'll go out on a limb here and state that nothing in the concluding 'hold the big bit of wood above your head' ever happened and you don't end a war movie with a Coldplay track.
