Review of Under the Silver Lake (2018) by Egoborder — 16 May 2019
For a movie that has a pretty bananas plot, this is actually very solid. Sure, you have to be willing to go along with a type of fantasy-noir that is more about "the message" than an actual whoddunit, but the ride is well crafted even if the destination is not up your alley. The movie is a puzzle about puzzles, and there's plenty to keep the audience guessing.
If you're in the mood for a metaphorical mystery, check it out. If you want something more conventional, probably best to skip it.
