Review of Upgrade (2018) by Rox22 — 04 Sep 2022

Kinda weird. It's an interesting idea, but done better in other similar movies. The cyberpunk design of the world is very well done. Not too over the top and designed pretty well to make it feel real.

I could easily imagine this being our future somewhere down the line. What did surprise me about the movie was its tone. It is more of a horror/thriller than Sci-Fi. Fight choreography was pretty good, reminded me a little of the movie Equilibrium.

Characters were flat and barely developed, even the main character. Story is okay, but unoriginal. It seems predictable, but does have a few twists and turns to remain interesting.
