Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by M H — 29 Nov 2017

I really wanted to like this film, but despite the effort I couldn't. Great effects, great alien variety, and even potentially good chemistry between the leads, but the relationship is so hackneyed and painful.

I got very tired of him and got tired of her not putting in for another partner. This might have been based on a 20th century comic book, but it badly needed a 21st century rewrite. Maybe if you watch it with the sound off and make up your own dialog and story it would be ok.
