Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by Ádám S — 25 May 2011
Nicolas Winding Refn's follow-up to "Bronson" is a poetic piece of ultra-violence and stylization, about a brutal mute warrior who travels with a group of religious Vikings to a land of heathens some time in the early Anno Domini.
Frankly, I have no idea what is going on in this movie, except for lots of killing and lots of ominous music, landscapes, and fog, but Refn's visuals are so beautiful and interesting that it's easy to get through.
