Review of Vampire Academy (2014) by Alexia C — 02 Aug 2014
You would think we would be sick of vampires by now. You would be right.
In its efforts to fill the vacuum left by Twilight's finale (finally!!) Vampire Academy is hastily put together. The script is a watered down parody of Mean Girls, and while the cast tries their best to deliver dignified performances, there isn't much one can do with a script stuffed full of exposition. Show, don't tell!
One good thing about this film was the utter lack of obvious CGI. Kudos to the filmmakers for relying more on stuntwork and practical effects.
