Review of Venom (2018) by Stanley C — 23 Nov 2018
Cacophonous and desperately filling up the screen with chase or action scenes featuring the mutilation and dismemberment of policemen to make up for its short length, VENOM is flawed yet boasted by Tom Hardy's performance and VENOM still successfully leads the superhero genre out of the "Nice Guy" template in which the superhero can also be aggressive, homicidal and sadistic.
But all in all I must admit I'm more used to movies where the hero and the villain don't look nearly the same as each other. Venom and Riot have just about the same appearance with minor deviations such as color and composition.
