Review of Vice (2018) by Ryan H — 26 Dec 2018
Fuck this movie. Imagine if Rush Limbaugh made a biopic on Barak Obama, is that something you would want to see? Do you feel like you would have really gotten a true portrait of the man and who he really was? Well that is what this movie is, and it's insane that people are actually taking it seriously.
I'm not a Dick Cheney fan by any means, but this movie felt at best manipulative, dishonest and only kind of funny sometimes, and at worst, immoral. It employs the exact same deceptive tactics it accuses Fox News, the Cheneys, Rumsfeld, etc.
of in the film. I felt like Adam McKay was two inches from my face screaming at me the entire movie. Christian Bale's embodiment of Dick Cheney is the best part about this movie, but unless you are just that into heavy makeup prosthetics, I'd say skip it.
