Review of Waiting for Guffman (1996) by Murder C — 08 May 2009
Corky St. Clair (Christopher Guest) sets up a musical production in the small town of Blaine, Missouri in this 'Spinal Tap' type of mockumentary (that is also written and directed by Guest). Sadly while "This Is Spinal Tap" is a comedy classic, "Waiting For Guffman" just comes off as a bleak version of 'Tap', it is just not funny.
I guess sometimes things work and sometimes they do not.
