Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Johnson — 20 Nov 2005
Don't waste your time on this unless you want see an overproduced typical hollywood plot. This film sheds litte light on Cash's life, and trivializes his story into the typical "struggling artist with childhood struggles, takes drugs, yells at his wife, falls in love and is redeemed".
This movie would be a fine Lifetime/Hallmark tv drama if it was some fictional story about a fictional character. This film offers no insights into why Johnny Cash was such a beloved artist, and is an insult to his life.
