Review of Wanted (2008) by Kman5473 — 29 May 2018
For 2008, this movie feels not only dated but also completely hallow of any substance that is either remarkable, interesting, or compelling in any way. I've been going through films with Angelina Jolie in it, trying to figure out why I've never really gotten a feel for who she is.
WANTED is a prime example of answering that: it's because she constantly is cast in films where there is no character development. It feels somewhere between a Matrix ripoff and a superhero film, with nothing redeemable, new, or interesting to add to an overly saturated market of films about angsty, cis, white men who have not found an excuse to produce violence in a justifiable or excusable way in their life.
Hard pass. Couldn't even finish it.
