Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Jeffrey M — 23 Jul 2017
While there seem to be clear faults within the story line, this is a well-depicted story from the perspective of the apes. Not only was this viewpoint surprising, but it also showcased both a hostile and pleasant situation on the part of the apes that is entrancing in its touch.
Some humor finds its way into this movie, creating a more pleasing sense of urgency as the apes struggle for freedom. Although the prison sequence is far too drawn out and unnecessary, some emotional scenes create drama in a satisfying manner.
The ending leaves a sense of wonder over the future of the apes as they defeat the humans and carry on their journey.
