I'm a big fan of both Wahlberg (when he portrays serious characters) and Phoenix (pretty much always), and I was very excited to see them as two brothers that don't see much eye to eye.
I don't see this movie as full of clichè and poorly written as most people do.
On the contrary, I felt truly hooked up throughout the entire film.
Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg didn't disappoint me at all.
In addition, I have to say that Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall surprised me as much as the two protagonists.
