Review of Welcome to Marwen (2018) by Josh D — 04 Jan 2019
This is a great movie. It is a bit odd at first going back and forth with the action figures and real life. But once you get into the real story of Mark Hogencamp, it begins to shine. Steve Carell and Leslie Mann connected right away and communicated venerability and compassion well without having to say much, Steve Carrell carried his primary role masterfully much like Tom Hanks had to do in Zemeckis' Castaway and Forrest Gump.
I would put Welcome to Marwen in the same league as those other two Zemeckis movies.
