Review of When Harry Met Sally... (1989) by Jameson W — 11 Jun 2014
I had the pleasure of reading the script for "When Harry Met Sally" long before actually seeing the film. Let me just say that the script is every bit as good as the finished product and is a hilarious and smart read. I was impressed and inspired by how well this film flowed and also by the great dialogue and character interaction.
The onscreen chemistry between Crystal and Ryan is excellent and very believable. The film takes place over the course of a little over a decade and shows the relationship between Harry (Crystal) and Sally (Ryan). Initially they don't like each other, but as fate would have it their paths cross multiple times in the future and lead to a strange and honest friendship. There is plenty of humor, romance and true to life comedic observations about the way people behave in relationships. "When Harry Met Sally" is the epitome of romantic comedies and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the film and every page of the script.
