Review of Where to Invade Next (2015) by Henry A — 30 Jan 2017
Look it, there's no doubt Moore is a provocateur. But is there not some truth in what he says?
In this instance, he examines some of the broken systems in America (there are many) and goes to country where those same systems work very well. I'm quite sure the issues are more complicated than what Mr. Moore depicts in this movie, but on the same hand, it's hard to fuck things up more than they are in our country. What's our answer? Criticize Michael Moore. Say we're No. 1. Elect a guy like Donald Trump to our highest office.
Imagine there's no country sang John Lennon. If you can do that, I think you'd be hard pressed to call anything in America No. 1. To me, the patriotic thing to do is fix our broken systems. Looking at successful countries seems like a pretty reasonable step in doing that. That's what Moore has done with this movie.
