Why Him? Doesn't break new ground with its standard comedy plot and the occasional low-brow humor thrown in, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't really enjoy the acting by nearly everyone here, and had quite a few laughs, which is exactly what a comedy should do.

James Franco and Bryan Cranston work very well together, and the mother in this film is another welcome hilarious performance that kept me laughing. Franco is the best part of the film, his role as a young man who found fame and fortune quickly is hilarious.

Keegan Michael Key is also a great addition to the cast as Franco's bodyguard/personal trainer. Cranston and Megan Mullally are great as the two parents with a very dry sense of humor and personalities that are a 180 from Franco.

Other than the acting, there wasn't much else that was great, aside from the fact that the film is very well lit. The plot was fine, the script was pretty funny, and the movie itself was serviceable, but the performances inside the film were something any fan of the two main actors should not miss.

Comedies are supposed to make you laugh, and I found myself doing that quite a bit in Why Him?
