Review of Windfall (2022) by Unclewillard — 22 Mar 2022
If the point is a metaphor for modern feminism, id be shockingly surprised, but the point still stands. The biggest loser wins. That is typical of our society. This movie would have you believe that the woman is the hero.
..she's not. The rich guy? Sure, he's an **** but he did come by his wealth honestly. It just made him a bigger **** than he probably already was. The bum? He at least tried to have some agency and gain the same advantage; wealth.
The poor gardner was just a working guy trying elevate his work beyond just money and get some appreciation. She was just a mooch. She married well and for money, but would have you believe that she's a victim.
She could have just gotten a job, but instead she went for the brass ring and a golden payday. Yet instead of coming to terms with who she is, she just held her husband in so much contempt she was able to murder him.
She is the biggest villain here. Ironic that the rich **** tried to save them all in the best possible way, but she blamed him not just foer failing, but for the whole situation.
