Review of Wonder (2017) by Mahmus — 25 Sep 2020
Every scene in this movie is designed to make you cry, and I'm not gonna lie, every scene in this movie made me cry.
I love the way this movie focuses not just on Auggie, but on everyone around him. Everyone from his sister, his parents, his best friend, his sister's best friend, even the bully to a lesser extent, they all get a chance to be more than they would be in any other movie with this same story.
While it definitely relies on very common tropes and clichés, and it can feel a bit emotionally manipulative (one particular subplot felt very forced just for the sake of tears), this was an very emotional experience that I highly reccomend if you just wanna watch something very, very sweet.
