Review of Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018) by James R — 07 Jun 2018
It doesn't get much better than this folks. I'm not particularly fond of documentaries right off the bat. They just don't do it for me, but I find that the one's that I do rarely like are the one's that I have some kind of familiarity with the subject matter.
Well Mister Rogers' Neighborhood just about does that for me. It's one of the shows I remember watching very early on in my childhood and I even remember his shoe tying lessons helping me learn to tie my shoes properly.
This documentary goes over the life and legacy of Fred Rogers. It goes from his early years starting out to his final show and the few years left after. It's a great piece on Mr. Rogers and it showcases not just the highs of his career, but also shows off a bit more of the personal side of him the side we didn't get to see on screen.
This is a great doc that I think can be enjoyed by anyone really. It's nice to hear the story of such a genuine good man who put others before himself in order for children to get the attention and feelings they deserve.
