Review of Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018) by Scott K — 08 Jun 2018
I want to put nostalgia completely aside for this review, b/c although there are tons of it in this movie for those who want it, that isn't really what makes this film great.
This film is a real, honest look at Fred Rogers and even more than that a way of looking at the world and people that is DESPERATELY needed today. It delves into the "whys" of what we already know about this wonderful human being and gives color to things we didn't know. (or at least I didn't know about members of his cast and other projects in his life).
This one will truly stick with you after you leave the theater and wishing that there was a Fred Rogers out there with the patience and frankness to be our moral compass in a time we so desperately need one.
