Review of Wrath of Man (2021) by Hexetic — 31 Jul 2021
Some decent action and suspense at the beginning, but a third of the way in the movie starts treating the audience as complete morons, spelling every backstory beat out letter by boring letter, and believability unravels as glorified security guards for insurance purposes make ridiculous decisions to die to protect money while robbers decide to focus on anything other than robbing.
It tries desperately to be Heat, but the gunplay and heist planning and characterization doesn't square up. Instead it winds up being more like Taken, with a better protagonist but just as ludicrous in the end -- actually, worse than Taken in some regards, because the ending isn't as satisfying.
